Blame

Boy of boy did I discovered some good gems over the past week.  Once again I created a short video post focusing on my favourite find for the week. It’ a 3 minute primer inviting you to what might be my new favourite podcast ever.

The podcast I am referring to is with Jerry Colonna and Parker Palmer on “Shadow and Leadership”.  This rich dialogue invites us to all ask ourselves what we are consciously and unconsciously inviting into our organizations and teams.  They don’t reference families but everything they unpack applies to all aspects of our lives. This is radical self-inquiry at it’s finest.

I discovered this podcast while taking a self-guided course from Reboot on Belonging and Inclusivity.  It’s a 6 day virtual course but with the breadth and depth of the content it took me all week to get through the first 2 days.  If any of you are inspired to do the full course I highly recommend it and it is free! https://www.reboot.io/inclusivity/ .  Another gem in the course is this video inviting us to notice how we often feel a need to choose between our identify and inclusion.  In fact 61% of us do this but it does not have to be that way.

This past week’s theme was blame.  Both the noticing of it in self and others.  In practicing this consciousness work many of you have said that you hear blame differently than you once did both in yourself and others.  Blaming is human and when we find ourselves or others doing it we are invited to become curious about what lies within it to unpack.  The goal is not to shame blaming but rather understand what it has for you to learn in it.  And it is also human to feel hurt or angry when you feel blamed by others.  These moments help reveal our unmet needs and lost parts.  I’ll share more on this next week but for now here is a little dark humour on blaming, don’t watch if you are sensitive to swearing 😊https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sdn3O6aaMNc&feature=emb_logo .

If there are any topics you would like me to cover in my weekly finds please let me know.
